recently ran down my battery and had to recharge it. when i went to start the van back up the speedometer and tachometer were stuck on the wrong side of the peg/post. the fuel, temp and odometer gauges work fine. have you heard of this happening before. could it be a fuse? wherer would the fuse box be located if so. it was not labeled on the box located under the hood.what would be the cheepest way to fix for a first time do it yourselfer on a tight budget. could you help???

It is not a fuse. I've had this happen on several cars. This simplest answer is to get the needle back on the other side of the pegs. There are 2 ways to do this. Carefully dismantle your instrument cluster. Or, the easier alternative. Start the car and then smack the dashboard where you wont break anything. I know it sounds barbaric but you need to smack it. Hard. Do this and the needle will jump the pegs and all will be well.
