1996 Town and Country van 3.3, long block with Jasper reman engine. I'd driven 3 miles at about 50 mph. With no dashboard warnings, noise or smoke, the engine died. I immediately coasted and stopped the car. There was a pool of oil (pretty much all of it) under the front of the car near radiator. While waiting for tow, i inspected the engine and could see no oil. It turned over but would not start. A mechanic says it may be a connecting rod or broken crank. Is there a definitive way to diagnose this -- find out what caused the massive oil loss?
Would blown head gasket or main seal failure on crankcase be problem. My Jasper warranty is expired -- naturally.
Thanks so much
