I had the transmission fluid changed in my 2000 Ford Windstar at the local Ford dealer. After the work had been done the van has "power surges" and the tachometer will go between 1500 rpms to 2000 rpms when accellerating. The dealership tells me it is a malfuncionting sensor and the repair will cost about $200. I have heard that near the transmission fluid filter there are wires that connect to these sensors. If they are disturbed during the work it can affect how the sensors work. Do you think the power surges are related to the transmission fluid change?
