Hello,
I have a '78 Chevy van with a straight six engine. Recently by accident the oil was overfilled by about 2 qrts. The next day one of the hydraulic lifters started clacking intermittently, mostly after the vehicle has warmed up but not always.
Could overfilling the oil cause this or is it unrelated. The motor is in great shape with low mileage.
Thanks alot for your help in this matter.
Sincerely,
Ken Medeiros

Already Tried:
maintain proper oil level, can of stuff to quiet lifters. I was told I have to change cam & lifters if one lifter is bad.
