I have a 1998 GMC Sonoma Van w/about 198,000 miles ...

I have a 1998 GMC Sonoma Van w/about 198,000 miles with a 6.5 liter diesel engine. The problem is that after about 2-3 hours of driving the van starts driving real sluggish, to the point where it will not move at all. The engine will get progressively worse, decreasing from a top speed of 80-90mph at the begginning to 10mph. The engine cuts off sometimes before it completely stops, but when it completly stops moving the engine will idle and even rev up, but will not move at all. CAN U HELP ME?
