my van runs hot only when i turn on my air ...

my van runs hot only when i turn on my air conditioner at highway speed.i,ve changed the thermostat & the fan clutch.what could be the problem?

1994 Ford e150econoline 5.8l

Already Tried:
changed thermostat new fan clutch radiator 1 year old

I have a couple of questions for you please: Was the fan clutch the same type that was removed? (Thermal = coil on front or centrifugal = flat on front)

Does the fan make a roaring sound when your van starts to get hot?

the replacement fan is thermal=coil in front but
thinner than old clutch.
i do not hear a roaring sound at all

OK, well if you don't hear a roaring sound when it is getting hot, then it is not locking up to cool down your motor, so you need to get another one. (I have replaced clutches that have only lasted a couple of months)

It's cooling just enough to keep you motor cool without the A/C but when you turn your A/C on the excess heat generated by your A/C overwelms your fan capacity, thereby your overheating problem. Does that make sense?
