yeah I have a 1997 astro van with the 4.3 engine in it. it was running fine i drove it home and the next morning it wouldnt start. It rolls over fine, sometimes it will start sometimes it wont. I have replaced several things, coil, coil wire, plugs, cap and rotor and the cam sensor under the cap. the ignition module is located on top of the engine next to the coil I put a used one in it about 3yrs ago. ok now what has happened is that when i try to start it it will roll over the first time and act
like it doesnt want to start. like no fire! but upon the second
or third time i roll it over [when it is cold] it may hit and start,
then i would turn it off an try it again to make sure it will start it
usually does but i drive it, then shut it off it wont start. try and
try again and a couple of times now it has started but it isnt
trust worthy ya know what i mean. yeah a buddy cam over
[master mechanic] and we replaced the cam sensor under
the rotor, it started. And it kept on starting , so we thought
we had found the problem, he left,i let it set about hr and it
started ok , then i let it set overnight and went out this
morning and on about the third or forth try it started, I ran it
about an hour then shut it off, about five minutes later i went
out to start it and the darn thing wouldnt start again. I got the
dog house off and started looking again but it has got me
puzzled, could it be that ignition module? I mean does it
intermitantly work if it is bad? well electrically thats the last
piece i have to replace except for the efi relay. where do i go from here [fuel] in a delema need my work van runnin, help me out if u can
