I hav a 1992 Ford E250 Van with 120,000 miles on it. It is in excellent condition except that when accelerating or pulling a slight grade the Heating/Air Cond. air is re-directed thru the defrost. I know this indicated a low vacuum situation but everyone I talk to suggests a different probable source of the problem. What do you suggest that I do?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Check the white vacuum hose under the hood above the evaporator box,it is the supply hose(should be white, may be black). They rot out and break over time. When it blows out the defroster,it is a default position indicating you are loosing vacuum. You can splice the vacuum hose together and work just fine.

I have checked all the vacuum hoses under the hood that I can find. No leaks that I can see.
