how do you know if a solenoid block is bad in a 2000 dodge caravan

Sent to Car Experts July 17 01:23 PM

Had a leak and was told that my solenoid block was leaking. So Aamco installed a new block. Now van will not go into reverse. They tore the whole transmission apart and found debris but, said the transmission looks good. Now they have transmission in and can not get the struts back on! OH MY what a mess
How do I know the solenoid block was bad in the first place? And could it have been a gasket needed to be replaced to correct the leak?
