my power steering and power brakes both went out at once, do you know what copuld have cause this? and what is required to repair?

Your truck is likely equipped with a hydro-boost power brake system. It is a hydraulic system powered by the power steering pump. It could be as simple as the power steering belt but more than likely, it's a bad P/S pump. If it quit suddenly like that, it probably broke the main shaft.
