hello i have a 1942 dodge with 36000 orig miles on it ...

hello i have a 1942 dodge with 36000 orig miles on it truck sat since 1958 i did alot of mechanical work to the truck new 6 volt battery truck ran for 2 months dead battery so i tried a 10 volt battery same thing dead battery the generator seems to be good can it be a fuseable link or what thanks

iam on my second battery both died new volt regulator 2nd one in truck generator seems good can it be a bad fuseable link or what thanks

Reply to Lurch's Post: the voltage regulator is new 2 voltage regulator both were new from that year and the generator i havent change or did any thing to it its the same generator since 1942 i had a new 6volt battery it lasted 2 months i replaced it with a 10 volt battery along with a new voltage regulator was put on when i replaced both batteries the 10 volt battery lasted about 2 months to the dead thank you
