Question

200 Chevy Truck Intermittenly will not start

Sent to Car Experts December 16, 2004 10:19 p.m.

I have a 6 cycl 2000 Chevy Silverado extended cab pickup, in the past 3 weeks the truck has broken down, after driving 30 - 60 minutes around 30 miles, the engine will crank but will not start. the first time it started after an hour. the second time it started the next morning. it is currently not starting. I took it to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong. any idea what could be causing the intermittent problem?

Is your problem still intermittent? You said it currently is not starting, does this mean you expect it to start again?

You need to do some troubleshooting. When it won't start-

1. Does the check engine light come on when you turn the key on (as it normally does) and do you hear the normal array of relays clicking, etc

2. Do you hear the fuel pump run when you turn key on/crank engine

3. Preferably using a spark tester, do you have spark to plugs?
