check engine light dodge 2001 dakoda

hello, i have a 2001 dodge dakoda club cab and have recieved a check engine light i had it put on a diagnostic machine some had and recieved the following error. p1949.
i know what it means but is this a harmful code if i keep driving the vehicle. just wanted to meke sure the car is safe to drive until i can get the money to fix the problem if there is one.
