i have a 1989 chevy truck 1500 with a 4.3 v-6. A set of manifold guages show me that I have 20 psi on the low side and 170 psi on the high side of my a/c system.That is with an 80 degree outside temp.
    The outlet temp is the same as the outside temp. If you try to charge it it starts making a loud whistling sound.. Also the drier is black and has a sight glass in it..if I try to find a replacement no parts store show this .They are all silver.Also compressor looks funny..Not GM (I dont think)

Hello!

This should be an R-12 system (at least the factory one on my own 89 Chevy 8 cylinder truck is).

Do you happen to know if there is R-12 in this system, or some other type of refrigerant?
