I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 reg. cab pick up with a 3.7 V6 engine. The problem just came up with a check engine light on. I ran a OBD II test on the truck to get the code or codes and a code P 442 came up showing a small leak in the EVAP system. I ran a smoke test and got a leak at the end of the air filter hose which runs from the NVLD to the air filter and then up to the left rear of the block to a vent. The smoke came out at the vent, which made me think that the NVLD was not working as it should. I ran pressure to the NVLD and then ran another smoke test with no leaks this time. Are there tests that I can do to see if the NVLD is working correctly
Thanks, Bob
