Question

My boyfriend's ABS and brake lights just came on in

Sent to Car Experts March 12, 2006 8:43 p.m.

My boyfriend's ABS and brake lights just came on in his Dodge Dakota 4x4 truck while he's driving. It's a 1999. The speedometer stopped woking, as well, and went all the way down to zero while he's driving. He still has full use of brakes, still driving ok.

Any ideas?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

The abs system runs through the transmission ecm (electronic control module) and the vss(vehicle speed sensor) will send a code which in turn sends a code that turns the abs light on. You may have a bad abs wheel sensor or a bad vss.
