1978 dodge truck 360 stalls when the automatic is put in gear, Replaced the folowing: fuel pump, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, full distributer, timing chain, rebuilt carberator,electronic module, ceramic resister. When timing with vac. advance disconnected as I get move away from TDC to 8 degrees the number 1 cylinder begins to miss the more I turn the distributer the less it fires eventualy stalling due to no spark. I am running the engine at 600 rpms when timing. I am running the air cleaner. If I have that off the butterflies ice up. It's 38 degrees here in pennsylvania.

Hey,
Sounds like you might have a vacuum leak. Check the vacuum hoses that go to the manifold to make sure none of them have come off or cracked.

Reply to Michael Truett's Post: All vacume lines are in great shape and are temporarily plugged. That is not the problem. Good suggestion.
