ACCEPTED Check Mark

The first thing to do is to check the oil pressure with a gauge. If you do not posess one you may be able to get one through a tool rental or loan program at a local parts store or just buy one.You would remove the oil pressure send unit and screw the gauge with hose into that hole. You should see between 15 and 40 psi at idle to 45psi plus at cruise. If the pressure is falling below 15 psi you may have an oil pump that is failing. You never stated how low it goes so I can only assume you mean it's going very low on the vehicle gauge. If pressure is normal on the test gauge you may just have a faulty sending unit or instrument panel gauge.
