how to adjust the clutch on 1970 international PU

The clutch peddal is getting mushy. I see a plate on the bottom
of the bell housing, is there an adjustment behind it and if so do
I need a special tool?

You need two 9/16 opened end wrenches get under the truck and find the rod that goes thru the clutch fork(the clutch fork is the metal arm sticking out of the drivers side of the bell housing)Loosen the two lock nuts and and turn them in the direction away from the cluth fork untill you have 3/8 of an inch free play and then lock the nuts back together. DONE.

If the peddle is getting mushy you 'll want to take free play out so turn ther nuts toward the clutch fork to take out free play untill you have 3/8 of an inch free play thats pulling against the return spring.
