Hi. I have a 1996 Suzuki Esteem. Today I left my car in a parking garage and while it was fine when i left it, when I came back the attendant brought me my car and the power steering was out. I checked the power steering fluid and it is at the lower level, but there is still a lot of fluid in there. Looking further there seems to a be a wire that broke in half. It?s a thin black wire slightly left of center near the front part of under the hood. Is that the wire connecting the power steering? Can it be soddered back together or do I need to buy a new one? If so, how much would it cost to replace? Finally, does this sound like a problem that just happened with normal wear and tear or is it possible that attendant at the parking garage did something? Thanks so much!

Hello and thank you for using JA.

The answer to your first question is "yes" they could be soldered together but make sure engine is off when you do it. Second you don't need to be alarmed, if this is connected to the power steering, or in any other parts of the car, most likely this is a sensor, just needed to be connected to where every it belongs, to send signal to the control pannel of the car,
and not the Attendant won't do some thing like that, besides, I don't think you and the attendant know each other and has conflication in the past, but still is highly doubt that, because it's too minor for the attendant to vandalize some thing like that.
