I have a 1999 Subaru Outback   which only has 48,000 miles on it. It is in excellent condition   &   I plan on keeping it for many more years to come.
For the past 3-4 months when I accelerate to about 30mph and up,   the accelerator has a slight humming and whining sound. This noise is emitting from the front final drive - gear noise - ring & pinion are out of alignment .
I know it is going to be a very expensive repair & it is NOT under warranty .
Can you explain what all this will entail and what the options are & WHAT EXACTLY IS HAPPENING IN MY CAR ? What parts are involved and how will they fix this problem?
How much time does it take AND HOW MUCH will it cost?
