I have a 1997 Subaru Impreza Sport. I've been having trouble starting the engine. I've had the starter, batter, and oxygen sensor replaced. It doesn't always give me trouble but I have to turn the key in the ignition over and over until finally it starts. Today it took me 10 minutes.

You will need to check fuel pressure, sounds like the pump is weak and not building up enough head pressure.It will require installing a gauge in line, there is no service port. Pressure should be 26-30 psi with the key on. If it is low, this is your concern. Other possibility is a problem with the Engine coolant temperature sensor giving a false reading. If it is saying it is colder than what the temperature actually is, it will richen the air/fuel mixture and also be hard to start.

A diagnostic check for codes would be a good idea at this point. You can also try starting the car with your foot giving the gas part throttle. If it starts right up, you have a problem with the idle control system. If you need more help, just ask.
