i just bought a 1995 subaru imprezza outback it starts up but has really no power to move the people that i bought the car off of says its the catlylitic converter can that be true

Already Tried:
i took it to a muffler place to replace the catlylitic converter but wont fine out about it until tomorrow the person that i bought the car off of say they put it on the computer and the only problem why it wasnt getting power was the converter

Hello Chuck and welcome to Just answer.com, Super mechanic here. I would almost bet that it is the Cat that is clogged on your Subaru. If you want to be sure you can take the 02 sensor that is before the converter out and see if you get a lot more power.
