Question

93 Nissan Altima Spark Plug Wire Problem

Sent to Car Experts August 10, 2004 10:42 p.m.

I have a question about the spark plug wires on my 93 Nissan Altima GXE. I had just replaced the spark plug wires when after about 5 minutes of driving the car started sputtering and losing power. I immediately pulled over and popped the hood and realized the spark plug wires had popped up about 1 to 1.5 inches. I pushed the wires back down until they clicked and drove around more only to have the same problem happen again. I took the car into autozone, replaced the wires 3 times, tightened the plugs and did everything I could think of to try to get the wires to stay down. I have never heard of this happening before and would really appreciate some help and insight as to what is happening. I asked everyone at two autozone stores and no one was able to give me any help or resolution to this problem. Here are some additional facts, I just replaced the plugs, Distributor cap, rotor, O2 senser, Air Filter, AC belt, and had the oil changed. Please give me any info that might help.
