does anyone know how to remove the spark plug wires from

does anyone know how to remove the spark plug wires from the plugs on a 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback? The rubber boot end where it connects to the plug itself looks like a "T" handle, but they will not pull or twist off

Already Tried:
I've tried pulling, twisting, yanking to the point I'm afraid I'll break off the end of the plugs if I yank any harder
