Hi, My 92 Saturn started to run rich, rpms at 1.5 even when stopped. Then on the way home it tried to turn off then it raised, fell back etc. I got it home and just now went to move it, it started but smoked black smoke and stopped. I checked all the fluids the oil was low, shouldn't have been. I refilled it. Now it will crank, ignition and battery working but will only start if I hammer the gas. It starts then turns off. No black smoke this last time. Any ideas what I should do now other than call the junk yard?

Optional Information:

Already Tried:

Greetings! U could have a bad fuel pump. I would rec to check fuel pressure. Fuel injected cars are very fuel pressure sensitive. Fuel pressure is very important and must be within specifications! But if the pressure is low, it does not mean the pump is bad. A plugged fuel filter, a pinched line, and low voltage at the pump can contribute to low fuel pressure. Both must be checked before replacing the pump. U can get a fuel pressure gauge at a local auto parts store for cheap. Good luck!

Reply to amedee's Post: Will I be able to check the pressure myself? No lift or such needed?
