how do i remove my battery from a 2003 saturn vue?

Here is the factory recommended procedure.

REMOVAL

IMPORTANT: Record all preset radio stations.

  1. Ignition Off.
  2. Remove battery cooling box screws and remove battery cover.
  3. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  4. Disconnect positive battery cable.

CAUTION: DO NOT TIP BATTERY OVER 45°ANGLE OR ACID COULD SPILL .

  1. Loosen battery hold down bolt and remove battery.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: DO NOT TIP BATTERY OVER 45°ANGLE OR ACID COULD SPILL .

  1. Install battery and tighten battery hold down bolt. Torque: Battery Hold Down Bolt: 15 N.m (11 ft-lbs)
  2. Connect positive battery cable to battery. Torque: Battery Terminal Bolts: 17 N.m (13 ft-lbs)
  3. Connect negative battery cable to battery. Torque: Battery Terminal Bolts: 17 N.m (13 ft-lbs)
  4. Install battery cooling box cover and tighten screws. Torque: Battery Cooling Cover Box Screws: 2 N.m (18 in-lbs)
