1999 SAAB 9-3 rapidly lost power and conked out minutes later

My 1999 SAAB 9-3 rapidly lost power on the highway. However, it did have enough power to get me home a mile away, but at a reduced speed. It seemed to sputter as it went at a max of about 10 mph. It conked out in my driveway (thank God). I tried to start it and it just cranks, but won't start. After a few times of trying to start it, its cranking got weaker. What do you think this is? I recently had my timing belt replaced and I did not see any broken belts. I have 81,000 miles.
