Engine over heating.

I have a 1993 Luxus 300ES that is smoking white smoke from the muffler. I think the head gasket is no good anymore and there is when I pull the drip stick out it looks like mud.Does this engine need to be replaced?

 It mostly depends on how long the engine has been driven with water in the oil and if the engine is overheated.  If you caught it early you will probaly be ok. The longer it has been the greater the risk of engine wear.
