HI THERE, i HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CHARGING SYSTEM ON MY CHEVY ENGINE IN A BOAT. IS THERE A WAY TO TEST THE OUTPUT OF THE ALTENATOR WITH A STANDARD METER?
SOMEONE TOLD ME TO DISCONNECT THE + TERMINAL ON THE BATTERY AFTER THE ENGINE STARTS. IF THE ENGINE STALLS THE ALTENATOR IN NO GOOD. IS THIS A GOOD TEST?

Reply to BOBBY's Post: WHEN I RUN THE ENGINE THE BATTERY DIES. IF I TAKE A TEN MINUTE RIDE WHEN I COME BACK AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE IT WILL NOT RESTART. I CHARGE THE BATTERY WITH A CHARGER THE ENGINE STARTS RIGHT UP. I CHANGED THE ALTERNATOR AND THE BATTERY. I ALSO CLEANED ALL WIRES. THE BATTERY STILL GOES DEAD.
