I have a 95 Silverado. The tach & speedometer don't always work. Also the trans. doesn't shift by itself and the check gages light comes on. I have no electricity coming to the fuse. If I put a jumper wire to the fuse then I can get it to work. What are the possible causes.

Checking the big fuses and looking at the wires coming to the fuse panel

I think I've narrowed it down to the ignition switch, but the instructions in the book, telling how to get to the switch don't seem to work. So now I need to know how the proper way to get to the switch.
