I have a 2001 Jee Grand Cherokee Laredo. Automatic Trans. I'm Getting a diagnostic code P1762 regarding transmission govenor pressure.

Then transmissions doesn't always down shift when you come to a stop. It seems to over rev when it does shift out of first.

Could this be as simple as flushing outh the transmission? Vehicle has 90,000 miles

I have attached the basic description of Code and common thing to consider. The diagnostic procedure is quite involved and requires a scan tool and pressure gauge. The first step is the verify fluid condition and level so I would be a good place to start to do a trans flush with fluid change and see if that helps.
