Question

Changing Automatic Transmission Fluid

Sent to Car Experts August 09, 2006 12:34 p.m.

I have a 2000 Toyota Sienna. When I bought it there was about 60,000 miles, now about 100,000 miles. I don't know if the transmission fluid has ever been changed. Should I have it changed? Is there a downside risk? I have heard that "flushing" the fluid as opposed to draining & replacing is risky in higher mileage cars. Is that true?
Thank You,
