Heater/ a/c

I have a 2001 dodge intrepet. Last year i put a new transmission in and now i have been having problems with the heater and a/c. First if you put it on one of the vents it doesn't stay there it cycles though the vents. Second during the winter i had only heat now i have only cold air that blows out. What do you think the problem is?
