noises from the drivebelt area of my vehicle.

i have a 2001 Mustang Bulitt, and recently (under extreme heat conditions) i started to hear a rotating metallic noice from my drivebelt area ONLY while i IDLE. during acceleration, the noise disappears. Could this be due to my drivebelt being worn out or perhaps a lose tensioner? help
