A missing wheel stud wouldn't cause the vehicle to shake when braking. The two most common causes of this problem are either loose front end parts or warpes front brake rotors. Have either of these been checked?

Reply to BOBBY's Post: i know the missing stud will not cause the shaking, but over a period of time will it cause damage to the bearings? The outer race of the bearing came off with the wheel hub. This is the second replacement in 6 months. when i try to stop it shakes and sounds rough. carolejoe
