Question

starting problem

Sent to Car Experts July 10, 2006 1:08 a.m.

1989 Chevy aerostar, 6cyl When you go to start the car, nothing happens, then you jump start it and it starts right up. The alternator is new and functioning, the battery has been changed twice and would not start without a jump with brand new battery the first time. Also the starter solinoid has been changed. I was an aircraft engine mechanic, so I am not without mechanical knowlege, but myself and two professional mechanics in town have found nothing to cause it not to start it just won't without a jump. What could it be?

Optional Information:
1989 Chevrolet astro van 6 cyl

Already Tried:
2 new batteries, new alternator, new starter solinoid
