1992 S10 Random Wiper Swipes
Sent to Car Experts July 07 06:23 PM

1992 Chevy S10 P/U 4.3L that I've had since new. It has always had a problem with random swipes of the wipers. It seems to be related to some electrical item coming on or shutting off. It will occur most often when turning on the turn signals, or when they cancel, but also occurs when I apply or release the brakes. In rare instances, it has occurred when I was doing nothing but driving down the road. I've had dealers look at it several times and have replaced the electronics associated with the wiper motor and the stalk-mounted switch. Thanks.

Reply to Marc's Post: By "pulse" do you mean the intermittent wiper option? If so, then yes. As I recall it was bundled as part of the option that included the tilt steering wheel and cruise control.

It is called Phantom wipe.

It is caused by a faulty diode in the delay module.

You can fix it by Installing a revised pulse control module part #22101636.
