I have a 2001 Cheve Monte carlo and the body control module is bad, sending a constant signal, I am on vacation and the "dinging" is driving me nuts. Can someone tell me where the module is and which wire I can disconnect from where to silence the dinging till I can have it trouble shot

Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (Left)

Removal Procedure


    Images available only to Customers.


  1. Release the left instrument panel (IP) insulator tabs from the lower IP trim pad retainers.
  2. Rotate the courtesy lamp counterclockwise in order to disconnect the courtesy lamp from the insulator.

  3. Remove the insulator from the stud at the accelerator pedal.
  4. Remove the insulator.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable.
  2. Remove the left instrument panel insulator.
  3. Disconnect the BCM electrical connectors (2, 3, 4).
  4. Remove the BCM (1).
After posting all that and looking at the wiring diagram there is not a wire you can disconnect to stop the chime.You can however pull the radio fuse in the passenger side fuse box.That should kill the chime since the chime comes over the radio speakers.
