I am not sure what you mean by (what did I do wrong) since you don't say what you did. It could be the distributor is one tooth off r it could be something else. Pleas give more detail.

i put the timing chains on correctly ,button it upand checked the timing and it reads 20 degrees before tdc. before this i had the head worked on and set the chains like the book says. its a ford f-150 5.4l windsor motor. it seems to run ok but has to low of idle.any help with this would be great. thankyou

Does it have a vacum advance or is it controled by the PCM?
