i have a 98 fatboy with 16" ape hangars. i have always had problems with my handlebars slipping on me when i hit bumps or pull back to hard. is there anyway to secure my handlbars to eliminate slipping in the future?

they seem to be fine to me. i have always had this problem and im wondering if i need to get new risers and clamps. the thing is though, i cant imagine there is not something i can do without purchasing new stuff. welding, freaking glueing, something!!!

If you were to roughen up the contact area on the bars,risers and clamps you may get away with some epoxy.Maybe deepen the knurls just a tad.Use the slower drying stuff it's stronger.The only drawback would be if you ever need to change your bars again it may be difficult.

how would you roughen them up? is there any brand of epoxy that you reccomend?
