I have a 97 olds aurora (92K miles). Very recently, started having a "LOW OIL PRESSURE" alarm come on primarily at a stop light. Gage shows pressure drops to 5 PSI. Changed oil, but occurs within first 200 miles of driving, at mild outdoor temps (65 degrees). Can you tell me possible problems, solutions. Thank you,

I WOULD HAVE THE OIL PRESSURE CHECKED AT A REPAIR FACILITY, IF IT'S TRULLY LOW THEN THERE IS AN INTERNAL ENGINE PROBLEM, BUT MOST COMMONLY IT'S THE OIL PUMP ITSELF OR THE RELIEF VALVE. IF THE PRESSURE IS NOT LOW THAN YOU HAVE A BAD OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT, SIMPLE EASY FIX. IF YOU DO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE PRESSURE, INRECOMEND TRYING TO SWAP THE OIL OUT WITH 20W50, AND ADDING SOME "LUCAS OIL STABILIZER, " IT'S NOT CONSIDERED A FIX, BUT I'VE SEEN IT TAKE CARE OF LOW OIL PRESSURE PROBLEMS AT IDLE.
