I have a 1991 E-150 with a 5.0L and an AOD transmission. When the transmission shifts down from overdrive to drive it really slams into gear. This doesn't happen when shifting up , only down. Any idea?

adjusting the kickdown rod to specs. Checking all outside mechanical and vacuum components.
