I have a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4WD and it has 30000 miles on it and it has a low speed 2-8 MPH squeek from the rear under side of the pick-up. The brake pads are good and clean but forward or reverse at the low speed it has a high pitched and some time a low howl when it is moving without the brakes applied.

Check to make sure a rotor dust shield isn't touching a rotor. If it is bend it back a little if not i would pull the driveshaft and check the u-joints.If it's a chirp pause chirp noise it's quite likely the u-joints are bad.

Reply to Davo/diablo666's Post: I have checked the rotor dust shields and u-joints and they are not causing the noise. I suspect upon inspection that the rear brake pads have gotten hot and appear to be squeeking as the rotors turn.
