can u take the engine and transmission from and 1990 ...

can u take the engine and transmission from and 1990 dodge sprit (2.2)and put it in a 1991 dodge caravan that now has a 3.0 which is a peice of junk to me --blows oil like crazy and every one of the3.0's have that i have owned .from what i have heard the 2.2 is a tough one
