When I turn the key in my 1999 Lexus ES300 nothing happens, ...

When I turn the key in my 1999 Lexus ES300 nothing happens, there are no sounds just nothing.

After I do it a few times the car starts up.

I turned the car off after a ride and attempted to immediatly start it up and the same thing happened.

Any idea what;s wrong
