I have to change a tie-rod on a 93 honda civic ...

I have to change a tie-rod on a 93 honda civic lx. the tie-rod is on the front passanger side. went to alliagn it and it had a little play in it where I know it shouldn't have any. My question I quess is should I just replace the tie-rod end or the whole thing?
