strut mount bolts removal. 1988 cutlass supreme. rear struts lower bolts. do they tread out or hammer (slide) out?

Already Tried:
upper bolts are removed. lower nuts are removed. tryed tapping on lower bolts to slide out . no movement. did not want to over exert and cause damage. do they tread out or do i need more effort in hammering them out?
