1987 MB 560SEL Rt Window lifter motor blows fuse when ...

Sent to Car Experts December 04, 2005 9:27 p.m.

1987 MB 560SEL Rt Window lifter motor blows fuse when window hits top. New switches. Either motor is shorting or Power window relay is bad, I suspect. Is it possible to test motor and/or relay to isolate what is causing the fuse to blow? Left rear window on same circuit and works fine up and down, not blowing fuse, so suspect not the relay. Left front and Rt rear also OK but on another fuse. Suggestioons?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

I would suspect the motor is drawing to much current. You could measure the current (amps) on good motor thats not blowing your fuse to the current the possible bad motor is drawing.
