Car will not start-Ignition switch will not turn.

1996 Chevy Cavalier Steering wheel locked and can not get ignition to turn with key inserted. Tried to turn wheel farther to the right but key will not turn either way.

The ignition lock cylinder will probably need to be replaced.

We have tried the shift and right now we are giving up until we can afford to fix it right. Thanks.
